Cobb County is conducting a national search to find Eveler's replacement. An external search firm will be used to find candidates, county officials said.

"The Board of Elections appreciates Janine's service and commitment to Cobb County and the opportunity we've had to work with her to address concerns and challenges related to the changing elections landscape in this state,” Board of Elections and Registration Chair Tori Silas said in the release.

“In seeking her successor, we will undertake a search process to find a director that possesses the right combination of relevant experience and leadership abilities to continue to evolve the election administration process and move the elections office forward in service to Cobb voters."
