- A Cobb County family is offering a reward for answers after their teenage son was shot and killed at a sleepover last month. On the one-month anniversary of Charles "CJ" Brown's death, family and friends hosted a pickup basketball game to honor his memory on Wednesday, Jun. 28. This comes after the Cobb County police dropped charges against a juvenile that was in the home at the time of the shooting. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
- Marietta Parks and Recreation is seeking volunteers for the city's Parks and Recreation Month Celebration. The event will take place on Jul. 14 from 3:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Volunteers are needed to assist with games and activities. Click here to sign up to volunteer. - The Georgia Lottery celebrates its 30th anniversary with Gov. Brian Kemp, Georgia Lottery officials, and heads of state agencies. The first lottery ticket went on sale on Jun. 29, 1993, transferring more than $26.5 billion toward education in Georgia. Thanks to the lottery, 2.1 million college students have benefitted from the HOPE scholarship, and 2 million children have been able to attend pre-K through the lottery. (Northwest Georgia News)
