  1. The Marietta Police Department is currently investigating a Friday morning collision that occurred in the westbound lanes of North Marietta Parkway. A 35-year-old pedestrian was struck by a sedan during the incident. The pedestrian's condition is not known as of Sunday evening, but the individual was transported to Wellstar Kennestone hospital. The 55-year-old driver stayed at the scene and was cooperative with the department's investigation. (Fox 5 Atlanta)
  2. Cobb County will likely be seeking $7.5 million in federal funding for transit improvements. The funding will go towards improving the East-West Connector between Austell Road and I-285. Additional funding will also go towards a trailhead along the Chattahoochee River at Discovery Boulevard and Mableton Parkway. (Yahoo News)
  3. The West Cobb Senior Center will be hosting an 8 Ball Tournament on Friday, Sept. 30 at 10:45 a.m. The tournament will be using the standardized World Billiards Congress of America's rules. The tournament is meant for Cobb County seniors 55 years or older. Participants are encouraged to bring a dish to share. (Cobb County Courier)
