- This summer, Marietta City Schools will provide free meals to children under 18. The Seamless Summer Option program helps provide these meals to communities around the country to address child hunger. Meals will be available from May 30 to Jul. 28 at any of Marietta City Schools' locations. There is no registration or income restriction. More information can be found here. (11Alive.com WXIA)
- The South Cobb Arts Alliance is hosting two exhibits at The Avenue West Cobb from July 15 to August 4, 2023. The first exhibit, the SCAA National Juried Art Exhibit, requires a $45 entry fee and submissions must be made by May 31. Renowned artist Kathy Rennell Forbes will judge the artwork. The second exhibit is a juried competition for middle and high school artists, with no entry fee, and submissions are accepted until June 15. (Cobb County Courier)
- Mars Hill Road in Cobb County will be closed for construction for a month. The road will undergo bridge rehabilitation, concrete repairs, and streambank restoration. - Councilman Joseph Goldstein was presented with the "Ernest Barrett Award" for the Cobb Chamber's Leadership Cobb Class of 2023. The award represents Goldstein's efforts toward and commitment to Leadership Cobb. (City of Marietta, Ga., Government via Facebook)
- There are less than 40 days left until Marietta's Fourth of July celebration! There will be fireworks in the square and many other exciting events to celebrate. (Visit Marietta GA via Instagram)
- The Marietta State Police remind drivers that the Georgia Digital Driver's License and ID in Apple Wallet are not valid when driving. Though it can be used for air travel, a physical copy of a license is needed when driving. (Fox 5 Atlanta)
