Girl, 14, Says She Was Raped

Marietta police reportedly have a person of interest in Tuesday's after-school attack.

A 14-year-old Marietta girl has told police a man sexually assaulted her after school Tuesday.

The girl was waiting for a bus at the corner of Powder Springs and Sandtown roads when she instead took an offer of a ride from a man who pulled up next to her, spokesman Officer David Baldwin told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and WSB-TV.

The man drove her somewhere, believed to be within the city limits, roughed her up and raped her, WSB reported, citing the police and the girl's mother.
