Goldstein Appointed Vice Chair of National League of Cities Information Technology & Communications Steering Committee

City Councilman Philip M. Goldstein has been appointed Vice Chair of the National League of Cities (NLC) 2014 Information Technology & Communications Steering Committee.

City Councilman Philip M. Goldstein has been appointed Vice Chair of the National League of Cities (NLC) 2014 Information Technology & Communications Steering Committee. This committee has the lead responsibility for developing NLC federal policy positions on issues involving telecommunications and information systems (and public access to these systems), privacy concerns, cable TV, phone services, spectrum issues, communications tower siting, universal service, broadcasting and defense of city rights-of-way from degradation caused by installation of communications facilities. The appointment was announced by NLC President Chris Coleman, Mayor of St. Paul, Minnesota.

"I am honored to be selected to serve as Vice Chair of the National League of Cities Information Technology & Communications Steering Committee," Councilman Goldstein said. "I look forward to increasing my knowledge and understanding of new technological advances in both the IT and communications sector in order to better serve my constituents and the City of Marietta."

As Vice Chair of the committee, Goldstein will play a key role in shaping NLC's policy positions and advocate on behalf of America's cities and towns before Congress and at home.
