Gunman Robs Marietta Discount Store

A gunman robbed the Discount Store just outside the city of Marietta on Friday night.

A man wearing a black hoodie and a black bandanna across his face entered the store at 371 Pat Mell Rd., near the intersection with South Cobb Drive, about 9:15 p.m. as an employee was closing for the night, spokesman Officer Mike Bowman said in a news release.

The bandit, brandishing a handgun, ordered the employee to the floor and took an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register.

The employee did not see which way the gunman ran, police said.
