  1. The Cobb County School District's hand-rinsing machines have had operational problems. The district spent almost $10 million on the machines. According to a records request, the machines have malfunctioned or refused to operate more than 100 times since their installation. The devices were purchased and installed as a public health measure at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. (Subscription: AJC.com)
  2. The average price for a gallon of gasoline in Cobb County is almost the same as the statewide average. The Cobb County average price is currently $3.155 per gallon. The average price in Georgia is currently $3.15 per gallon. Cobb County drivers are encouraged to compare gas prices to find the best price. (Cobb County Courier)
  3. A Marietta student was among several people who died in Seoul, South Korea during a tragic compression of bodies in the Itaewon nightlife district. Steven Blesi, 20 years old, was a student at Kennesaw State University. He was in South Korea to study international business and to learn Korean. He was one of the university's 11 study-abroad students. (NBC News)
