- Mark and Liz Deno, the owners of Marietta-based Atlanta Hard Cider Co. & Distillery, talked about their experiences that led to the creation of the local distillery, which houses its production facility and taproom here in Marietta. The pair formed the idea after taking a "research trip" to Oregon to learn how to make an all-natural hard cider since they couldn't find one that was easily available in the metro Atlanta area at the time. Good Day Atlanta recently took a tour of the distillery to learn more about how the hard cider is made. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
- Christopher Warren of Cobb County was charged with public indecency after allegedly exposing himself in front of a female employee outside of Best Buy in nearby Smyrna. The employee said that the first incident happened two weeks prior when she was waiting in the parking lot for her manager to open the door. She reported that the same thing happened 10 days later, and police were able to track Warren down and track his movements during the alleged incidents with surveillance video. (WSB Atlanta)
- A traffic stop led to a campus lockdown in Marietta last Friday night on the Kennesaw State University Marietta campus. Officers stopped the suspect on South Cobb Drive where he exited his vehicle and ran on foot onto the Marietta campus in an attempt to flee from officers. An emergency message was sent to all students calling for a shelter-in-place as it was unaware if the suspect was armed or not. It took about an hour for officers to apprehend the suspect on the campus, and no students were physically harmed. (Subscription: MDJOnline.com)
