- The Marietta History Center will host a traveling exhibit from Kennesaw State University. "Georgia Journeys: Legacies of World War II: will open Tuesday, Jan. 24, and run through Tuesday, Feb. 18. The exhibit is included as part of the regular admission price for the museum. (City of Marietta, GA)
- The Georgia Department of Transportation shut down I-75 in Marietta from Friday until Monday morning. The shutdown was related to a bridge preservation project to replace and repair part of the bridge's structure. (Cobb County Courier)
- COVID-19 rates are on the rise around the state and in Cobb County, particularly in school-aged children. The transmission and case rate for preschoolers was particularly higher than any other age group over the last two weeks. (Cobb County Courier)

- Firefighters in nearby Buckhead are dealing with sewage-tainted water from a drain inside the fire station. The issue has reportedly been ongoing since before Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens was elected. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
- If you're planning to hit the gym for your New Year's Resolution, don't forget to include a resolution for crime prevention. The Marietta Police Department reminds residents to always use a lock on their gym lockers to prevent theft. If locks aren't allowed, don't leave valuables in the locker.
