Here are the top three stories in Marietta today:

  1. Two construction workers are currently in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after a hit-and-run incident on Roswell Road in Marietta. According to the Marietta Police Department, a driver of a gray 2019 Volkswagen Jetta failed to yield at a lane closure around 1:40 a.m. on Mar. 12 and hit two construction workers, Jimmy Varraza, 38, and Oscar Aguilar, 28. After hitting the two workers, the driver left the scene on foot. Officials were searching for the driver at the time of this writing and are asking anyone with information to contact the police department. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
  2. The sinkhole that formed last Wednesday at the Bentley Ridge Condominiums in Marietta is continuing to grow, and residents are being forced to make adjustments to avoid the area and help one another as the section of road remains closed to traffic. The facility's HOA said that engineers would be reviewing the sinkhole on Monday to determine the time and cost it'll take to repair. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
  3. Brumby Hall and Gardens is reopening its Gone With the Wind Museum with more than 1,000 pieces of memorabilia from the novel and movie. Vicki Rogers, a collector of "Gone With the Wind" items for the last 40 years, donated the items to the museum. Rogers retains roughly 5,000 additional items as part of her "Gone With the Wind" Remembered Museum in Cleburne, Texas. The Marietta museum closed last year after another collector, Dr. Christopher Sullivan, sold his collection, which had been on display at the museum for about two decades. The museum is planning its grand reopening on Saturday, May 13. (Yahoo)
