Hours After Release, Marietta Man Goes Back to Jail
He allegedly assaulted a Marietta police officer.

Less than 24 hours after he was released from the county jail, a Marietta man landed back behind bars after he allegedly swung a green Publix bag that contained two large butcher knives at a police officer.
Shane Garry Bly allegedly ignored multiple requests to leave a home in the 400 block of Cascade Drive and damaged the driver's side door of the victim's vehicle, according to an arrest warrant.
Bly is also accused of not just ignoring the police officer who was investigating the incident, but "actively" fighting him.
At one point, according to the warrant, Bly allegedly swung the Publix bag containing two large butcher knives at the officer, hitting him on the side of his chest.
He also tried "to destroy the City of Marietta's portable radio ... in an attempt to disable communication for the police officer on scene," according to the warrant.
Bly was arrested just after noon Sunday on charges that include interference with government property, aggravated assault, second-degree criminal damage to property, willful obstruction of a law enforcement officer, carry conceal weapon and criminal trespass. He remains in the Cobb County Adult Detention Center without bond.
