In the city of Marietta, residents are already able to start putting out their trees for recycling. Residents must pay an excessive yard waste collection fee of $100 per load for crews to come pick up an undecorated live Christmas tree. Yard waste, including trees, must be at the curb by 7 a.m. on your scheduled collection day.

Branches and limbs must be six feet or shorter, and no single piece may be more than four inches in diameter or weigh more than 100 pounds. Remove all tinsel, lights, decorations, tree stands and plastic bags from Christmas trees prior to collection.

Big John's Christmas Trees will also provide tree recycling and removal services for varying prices depending on the tree size:

  • Nine feet or less: $65
  • Nine feet to 10 feet: $75
  • All trees over 10 feet tall will be individually priced

Only cash, Venmo or CashApp are accepted, and the cut-off date for removal and recycling is Monday, Jan. 10, 2022. Call, text or email Big John's Christmas Trees at 404-333-2834 or bigjohnstreeremoval@gmail.com.

The National Fire Protection Association recommends taking your Christmas tree outside after Christmas or when the tree is dried out, as dried-out trees can create a fire hazard. Dried-out trees should not be left inside a home or garage or leaning against a home.
