Marietta Apartment Shooting: 2 Injured, 6 Charged

Marietta Police have identified the six men who are facing aggravated assault with intent to murder charges in an apartment shooting.

MARIETTA, GA — Six men are facing aggravated assault and gun charges after a Marietta apartment shooting injured two men and prompted a police chase Wednesday night.

Marietta Police on Thursday said the shooting happened around 10 p.m. in the 400 block of Williams Drive at an apartment complex.

Though police said a 911 caller reported bullets that entered their apartment did not hit anyone, police said at least two people with gunshot wounds were taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in multiple vehicles.

In an update, police said the two men taken to Wellstar were treated and released from the Cobb County hospital.

After emergency callers gave a description of the suspect's vehicle, police said officers found the black BMW; but, it fled and caused a police chase that ended at the intersection of Polk Street and Mountain View Road.

The driver lost control, and the car left the roadway before hitting a light pole and rolling over near the intersection, police said.

The five males in the car were detained for questioning, and police said three handguns and a rifle were seized at the scene.

Police continued searching the apartment complex and found multiple vehicles and apartments had been shot at and damaged, they said.

The following men were arrested on charges of aggravated assault with intent to murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, per police:

  • Artavious Corley, 19, of Marietta
  • Charles Elliot, 20, of Canton
  • Arthur Stanley, 18, of Marietta
  • Dorian Santos, 18, of Canton
  • Arshad Head, 23, of Dallas
  • Alexander Gonzalez-Mendoza, 18, of Canton

They are being held at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center without bond, police said.
