Mableton Elects First Mayor, City Council: Report

The results are unofficial and are scheduled to be certified sometime next week.

MABLETON, GA — Michael Owens will take the helm as Mableton's inaugural mayor, according to unofficial results reported Tuesday through multiple media outlets.

The Georgia Secretary of State's Office did not publish the city election results on its website; however, Fox 5 Atlanta posted the results.

Owens was voted in during a special runoff election, which also decided the remainder of the first Mableton City Council. He defeated opponent Aaron Carman with 56 percent of the votes.

Dami Oladapo took the City Council District 2 seat with 53 percent of the votes, besting Monica Delancey.

Keisha Jeffcoat won City Council District 3 after defeating Yashica Marshall with 57 percent of the votes.

Patricia Auch took City Council District 4 with 57 percent of the votes over opponent Cassandra Brown.

TJ Ferguson won the City Council District 5 seat with 52 percent of the votes, defeating Cheryl Davis.

The City Council District 1 seat went to Ron Davis in the March 21 general election. Davis ran against opponent DeBorah Johnson and obtained 52 percent of the votes.

Deborah Herndon ran unopposed for City Council District 6.

Mableton became incorporated after the November 2022 general election. The votes are scheduled to be certified next week.
