  1. A man has been arrested following a hit-and-run incident earlier this week that left a pedestrian seriously injured. On Jun. 4, Marietta police officers found Oscar Sanchez, 40, in critical condition on Delk Road. Officers determined he had been hit by a 1995 Ford F-150 that was being driven by Miguel Bacilio-Marquez. Officers say Bacilio-Marquez did not call 911 or stay on the scene after the incident. Bacilio-Marquez has been arrested and faces charges of serious injury by vehicle, hit and run, driving on a suspended license, and failure to maintain lane. (WSBTV)
  2. Marietta will soon be the site of a new luxury home community. The development — called Freestone Station — will be built by Toll Brothers, Inc., one of the nation's foremost builders of luxury homes. Once completed, homes will feature up to five bedrooms and gourmet kitchens and will have between 3,200 and 3,600 square feet. Prices will start in the upper $600,000s, and the community's sales center is set to open in the fall. (Globe News Wire)
  3. In July, the nearby Cumberland Community Improvement District will be launching a pilot program with a self-driving shuttle system. The program will start with one 10-passenger shuttle that will follow two routes; one route will connect The Battery with the Cobb Galleria Center, and the other route will be limited to the Galleria Office Park. This initiative is part of the Cumberland Sweep project, which aims to connect nine major destinations in the Cumberland area. (11 Alive)
