Marietta Citizens’ Police Academy Program

The Marietta Police Department's annual Citizens Police Academy provides an opportunity for the citizens of Marietta to have the chance to experience what it is like to be a police officer.

During the program, participants will get an inside look at various units within the police department and learn topics to include: Crime Analysis, Narcotics, Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT), Crime Interdiction Unit, Investigative Services, Traffic Enforcement, Community Response Unit, Crime Scene Processing and more.

There is noΒ charge for the 10 week program, which is scheduled to beginΒ Sept. 3, 2013. Classes will be held everyΒ TuesdayΒ evening fromΒ 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.Β with a graduation on November 13th.

The Academy is open to residents of the City of Marietta or Marietta City business or property owners pending a background check. Applications are available at the front desk of the Marietta Police Department at 240 Lemon Street.
