  1. The Cobb County Courier published the health inspection scores of local area restaurants from Friday, Jan. 27 to Thursday, Feb. 2. While many Marietta favorites scored well (El Salvador Bakery and Kell Carlton J. High School scored 100), other restaurants on the list didn't fare as well.   2. Don't miss the next Marietta City Council meetings today, Feb. 6 and on Feb. 8. The meetings will take place at City Council Chamber in City Hall. Today, there will be an agenda work session beginning at 5:15 p.m., and on Feb. 8, there will be an agenda review session at 6 p.m. followed by a meeting at 7 p.m. (Cobb County Courier)
  3. In nearby Kennesaw, the popular Touch-a-Truck event returns on Saturday, Mar. 5 at 10 a.m. in Adams Park. The event is perfect for families and educational for all. Attendees meet vehicle owners or operators and are able to climb up into the vehicles to see how they work. The Department of Parks & Recreation is searching for both vehicles and volunteers.   • Tuesday, Feb. 7 has been designated “Safer Internet Day” with a goal of educating the public about sextortion. Dana Miller, former WI ICAC commander, will present a webinar on Feb. 7, 2-3:30 p.m., titled Self-Generated Content and Sextortion Awareness and Prevention, which is open to the public.   • The Cobb County sheriff has two new employees on payroll who just so happen to have four legs. Meet Duke and Diesel, 2,000-pound draft horses that will join the sheriff's office as the first members of its mounted unit. Beautiful photos of the two horses can be seen at the link.   • The Marietta History Center will host its monthly Pop-In event on Saturday, Feb. 18 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Pop-Ins provide children and their families the opportunity to interact with the museum through themed activities and crafts. (City of Marietta, GA via Facebook)
