  1. The Marietta Police Department is encouraging residents to participate in the community crime prevention program, S.M.I.L.E., to help lower crime stats and make swifter arrests. The program involves community members and business owners registering their camera security systems with the police. While police will not have access to these cameras, they may send requests to locals asking them check their footage for anything useful that could help the police close a case.   2. An unavoidable crash in Marietta on I-75 south Saturday night has left one person dead. Late Saturday, a Toyota Nissan collided with a stopped Nissan Maxima near the Terrell Mill Road exit. The driver of the Nissan was taken to the hospital and died upon arrival. (Marietta Patch)
  3. The Cobb Chamber and SelectCobb are holding an Advanced Manufacturing Industry Council Meeting on Mar. 1 at 10:00 a.m. at the Chattahoochee Technical College North Metro Campus. Participants will hear about the plans for current and forthcoming local manufacturing businesses and have a chance to tour the new Center for Advanced Manufacturing facilities.
