  1. A Thursday fire injured four people in Marietta. One of the injured individuals was a Marietta Fire Department firefighter. The blaze impacted 20 apartments in the 2000 block of Powers Ferry Road. The firefighter suffered an arm injury and the residents suffered smoke-related injuries. (Marietta Patch)
  2. Cobb Schools will be holding a Virtual Learning Day on Tuesday, Dec. 6, to accommodate the U.S. Senate runoff election. Students will be learning at home, independently. The lessons will be taught through the district's Cobb Teaching and Learning System. There will not be live virtual teaching. (Marietta Patch)
  3. A former Cobb County Sheriff's deputy has been sentenced to federal prison on child pornography distribution charges. Peter Bilardello, a deputy assigned to the department's Sex Offender Unit, plead guilty to the charges in August. According to U.S. Attorney Ryan K. Buchannan, his crimes are a "horrific breach of the public's trust." (Justice.gov)
