  1. Marietta was able to defeat Newton during Saturday's playoff game. The final score was 35-0. The loss will end Newton's 2022 season with a 3-2 record in Region 4-AAAAAAA. Marietta will be advancing to play Carrollton on Friday, Nov. 18 at 7:00 p.m. Carrollton is currently undefeated while Marietta is 5-6. (The Covington Times)
  2. The Cobb County District Attorney's office reports that a woman was sentenced to 20 years in prison for elder abuse. Shelia Knight was convicted of "forcefully" pushing an 86-year-old woman to the ground resulting in the woman breaking her hip. Knight did not re-appear in court when the jury reached its verdict. She was arrested by the Paulding County Sheriff's Office and returned to Cobb County. (Fox 5 Atlanta)
  3. Newly released body camera footage shares the heroic moment that a Cobb County police officer rescued a victim from a fiery car crash. Officer Hawkins rescued the individual along I-75 and I-285. He was assisted by a group of good Samaritans. As of Sunday evening, the crash remains under investigation. (WSBTV)
