  1. At least one person was shot at a hotel in Marietta on Wednesday. The incident occurred at Cumberland Lodge, and the motive is unknown. No further details have been released at this time. (Marietta Patch)
  2. Guardian Pharmacy, a leading long-term care pharmacy company in Atlanta, has opened its new headquarters in Marietta. The new location is a 16,000-square-foot facility and will be the company's primary base for operations.   3. The Marietta History Center is hosting its monthly Pop-In event on Saturday, Feb. 18 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., which will include themed activities and crafts celebrating Black History Month.   • When it comes to doling out municipal fines and fees, Georgia ranks fourth in the nation. According to an analysis of 2020 Census Bureau data, the Reason Foundation found that Peach State cities collected nearly $377 million in fines and fees from residents across the state that year.
