  1. A Marietta man has been arrested alongside four others in connection with a New Jersey home invasion and shooting that took place in July. Kedrain Burdette, 51, was charged with first-degree attempted murder, kidnapping, armed robbery, and other crimes. On Jul. 7, he and four other suspects allegedly broke into a Bergen County home wearing FBI raid jackets and heavily armed. Burdette is currently being held in the Cobb County jail without bond.   2. Marietta volunteers have contributed to Operation Christmas Child to help kids around the world have a happy holiday. Each shoebox they deliver is packed with toys, school supplies, and hygiene items. For added convenience, people interested in creating a shoebox can use the website to place their shoebox orders. You can even add a photo and a personal note to the child who receives the shoebox. (MDJOnline.com)
  3. The Cobb County Police Department and the Marietta Police Department have vowed to improve mental health resources for law enforcement officers, 911 operators, and first responders. One such measure would be an annual mental health evaluation for all employees. The police departments report they are working with local support groups which may be able to help officers deal with trauma, stress, and anxiety. (Cobb County Courier)
