Marietta Man Fatally Stabbed on Brackett Drive

The incident began as a dispute between a woman, the father of her child and her new boyfriend.

The Cobb County Police Department is investigating a deadly stabbing that occurred in the roadway near the 2400 block of Brackett Drive in Marietta overnight, according to Cobb Police Public Information Officer Sergeant Dana Pierce.

Officers were dispatched to a report of a person down in the roadway. When police arrived, they located the body of a man, identified as 26-year-old Christopher Reynolds of Marietta, according to Pierce. 

The incident began as a dispute between a woman, the father of her child and her new boyfriend. The father took off on a bike after he stabbed the boyfriend, according to WSBTV.  

Charles Mahaffey, 25, of Marietta, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault and Felony Murder. Mahaffey is currently being held without bond at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center.
