Cobb Man Thrown From Motorcycle After Hitting Curb, Faces Life-Threatening Injuries: Cops
A 29-year-old man was driving his motorcycle on Barrett Lakes Boulevard when he hit the curb and was thrown from the bike, police said.
MARIETTA, GA — A one-vehicle crash over the weekend left a man seriously injured and hospitalized, according to Marietta police.
Andrew James Acker, 29, of Marietta, was driving his red Kawasaki Vulcan 900 motorcycle southbound on Barrett Lakes Boulevard around 4:30 p.m. Sunday, just north of the intersection with Cobb Place Boulevard.
Acker hit the curb on the western edge of the road and was thrown from his motorcycle. He landed in the southbound right lane of Barrett Lakes Boulevard, while his motorcycle landed south of the driveway to Aviation Park.

He was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said in a news release Tuesday.
The crash remains under investigation, and anyone with information is asked to call Marietta police at 770-499-3987.
