Marietta Moves Forward With In-Person July 4 Celebrations
The city of Marietta will hold its Independence Day events and Let Freedom Ring Parade in person this year. Parade applications are open.
MARIETTA, GA — Fourth of July celebrations in Marietta won't all be behind the screen in 2021.
The city of Marietta's annual Independence Day events and the Let Freedom Ring Parade will take place in person once again this year, the city announced Thursday. City officials came to the decision following Gov. Brian Kemp's most recent executive order April 8, which lifted the statewide gathering ban of 50 or more people.
The city's parks and recreation department is now accepting applications to be in the parade, which will be held Saturday, July 3. School bands, military units, civic organizations, beauty queens, local Boy and Girl Scouts clubs, area businesses and others can sign up online to be part of it.
