A strong proponent of community policing, Flynn frequently petitions the General Assembly for legislation that he feels can help officers better protect and serve the residents of Marietta. His collaboration with local House of Representatives lawmakers has resulted in multiple bills being enacted into law.

Flynn received the award Tuesday from GACP Executive Director Frank Rotondo and GACP President Billy Grogan.
