Marietta Police Holding Active Shooter Response Seminar
The event will be held at Marietta High School on Wednesday, August 14, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm.

MARIETTA, GA — The Marietta Police Department, the Marietta Fire Department and WellStar Kennestone Hospital’s trauma center are planning a training seminar to be held at the Marietta High School Wednesday, August 14, 2019, from 6:30-8:30 pm. The Marietta Police Department has taught over 16,000 people the concepts of the Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) program over the last several years. The core principles of AVOID, DENY and DEFEND have been researched by Texas State University and proven to save lives of innocent people who find themselves trapped in an active shooter event.
The event was announced after a weekend of deadly shootings in Texas and Ohio that claimed 31 lives. More than 50 more people were injured.

Developed by the Hartford Consensus, Stop The Bleed is a program where civilians are taught life-saving skills to stop uncontrolled bleeding. This training enables the community to assist the injured until medical personnel arrive on scene of any serious casualty incident.
