- Marietta was recently ranked as one of the top 10 places to live in the South on Money's Best Places to Live rankings list. The four top-10 lists were divided into four regions: Midwest, Northeast, South, and West. The city came in ninth in its region. (Money.com)
- A national group called The Confess Project is using local barbershops to double as mental health centers for Black men. One such barbershop is Privado down the road in Vine City, which was named The Confess Project's Barbershop of the Year. The project aims to train barbers on how to listen and identify potential signs of a mental health problem. (Subscription: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution)
- A 60-year-old woman in nearby Kennesaw was struck and killed by a car while walking her dog. The incident happened on Saturday morning around 9:00 a.m. on Wooten Lake Road at Glenlake Parkway. Both the dog and the driver of the vehicle did not sustain any injuries. The investigation is ongoing. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
