Marietta Restaurant Among OpenTable's Top Brunch Spots

OpenTable names Marietta eatery as one of the Top 100 Restaurants for brunch.

MARIETTA, GA -- With Mother's Day upon us, OpenTable has did us all a solid by giving us a list of the 100 Best Brunch Restaurants in America for 2017. And low and behold, Marietta's own Chicken and The Egg made the list.

The Whitlock Avenue establishment bills itself as "a neighborhood gathering spot" that serves "sophisticated yet approachable American farmstead fare." All we know is that the food is delish. The eatery, which was brought to Cobb County in 2011 by Marietta resident Marc Taft, the former general manager of the now-defunct eatery Pacci, has become a metro-area staple.

Known for its Southern farmstead fare, Chicken and The Egg recently announced plans to expand its fresh and local approach to Forsyth County, adding three more restaurants to the fold, er, coup.

A few years ago, Patch did a Q&A with Taft, where he dished on what got him in the business and his favorite meal. "We are fortunate to have a very passionate culinary team that is present/hands on in the operation. We are dedicated to authenticity. We are believable; while it is a business, we do it because we love what we do," he said.
