- A Georgia man has been arrested for slapping a voter and filming voting machines on Election Day. Jesse Hunt was also behaving aggressively toward poll workers at the South Cobb Regional Library. It is illegal to take photos and videos at polling locations in Georgia. He is facing various charges that include interference with poll officers and provoking simple battery. The Cobb County Board of Election has commended staff and law enforcement for protecting election administrators during the incident. (WSBTV)
- A Mattie's Call has been issued for a missing Marietta resident. Hussein Esmail went missing around 11:00 p.m. on Friday near Holcomb Bridge Road. He was last seen wearing a blue Adidas jacket with "FRANCE" written across the back. A Mattie's Call is a public notification system used to locate missing elderly residents. It is similar to an AMBER Alert or a Silver Alert. (Patch)
- According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, COVID-19 transmission levels remain low in Cobb County. Residents are still encouraged to get vaccinated against COVID-19 and the flu. Despite the low rate of transmission, eight people died from COVID-19 in the area since last week's report. (Yahoo News)
