McEachern Student Chosen As Bank Of America Student Leader
Kennedy Head is a a Powder Springs resident and rising senior at McEachern High School.

ATLANTA — Bank of America announced that five high school juniors and seniors from metro Atlanta have been selected as Student Leaders. The philanthropic program offers young people an opportunity to build their workforce and leadership skills through a paid summer internship at a local nonprofit and the ability to help improve their communities. The program also empowers student participants at a national leadership summit in Washington, D.C.
Kennedy Head is a Powder Springs resident and rising senior at McEachern High School.
During the program’s 15 years in Atlanta, Bank of America has recognized 80 local student leaders. Nearly 3,500 young people from across the country have gained skills and workforce experience through the program since 2004. Bank of America also hosts an annual leadership summit in Washington, D.C. (July 8-13).

The Atlanta-based student leaders will work this summer at East Lake Foundation, an organization that works to enable residents in East Lake and families at Charles R. Drew Charter School in community revitalization that includes mixed-income housing, education and community wellness. This summer, the student leaders will work with the foundation’s partners to assist senior citizens with computer classes, tutor and mentor elementary and middle school youth and serve as counselors for the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) summer camp at Drew Charter School.

- Luci Allen, a Milton resident and recent graduate of Cambridge High School.
- Michelle Racheco, a Riverdale resident and recent graduate of Riverdale High School.
- Aleisha Sawyer, an Atlanta resident and rising senior at Westlake High School.
- Rashan Schoffner, an Atlanta resident and recent graduate of Charles R. Drew Charter School.
This summer, Bank of America is investing more than $4 million in funding to support nearly 3,000 summer jobs for teens across the country through various initiatives.
