MARIETTA, GA — Monday, May 31 is Memorial Day. In observance of the holiday, most federal, state and local government offices are closed.
There will be no mail delivery. Many businesses are open but with different hours — so it's not a bad idea to check before heading out.

Here's a breakdown of how the holiday could impact your routine:
- Cobb County government offices are closed on Monday.
- Municipal offices for the city of Marietta are closed on Monday.
- The Cobb County Public Library system is closed Monday; however library's digital resources are available. Normal hours resume June 1.
- Marietta garbage pick up: For residents within the city of Marietta's city limits, check your personalized holiday pickup schedule. Residents are asked to call 24 hours before their last scheduled pickup day.
- The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority will operate bus service, rail service and Atlanta streetcar service on Sunday schedules for Memorial Day.
- Cobb County Schools and Marietta City Schools students are finished with school for the semester.
- This is a federal holiday and all U.S. Postal Service post offices are closed Monday.
- All banks will be closed.
