Murder Charges in Fatal House Fire in Marietta
Teen died in an upstairs bedroom in Cobb County blaze in July. Arrested in Florida, man now faces murder and arson charges.

MARIETTA, GA — A suspect is in custody in the July house fire that killed a Cobb County teen.
Defareya Hunter, 37, has been charged with murder, aggravated assault, arson and cruelty to children, according to Florida's Broward County Sheriff's Office, where he was apprehended. Hunter is awaiting extradition.
Cobb County authorities previously told Patch that foul play was suspected in the afternoon fire July 23 at 3257 Shadow Ridge Drive.

Firefighters found the body of the teen victim in an upstairs bedroom. Her identity has not been released.
The AJC has identified Hunter as the victim's stepfather.
