Nearly 60 Townhomes Could Be Coming To Marietta

Two townhome developments brought up during a recent Marietta City Council work session could be approved Wednesday.

MARIETTA, GA — Almost 60 townhomes are on the docket for Marietta City Council approval — or denial — this week, with one development on South Avenue and one on Powder Springs Street.

South Avenue's development is planned to include eight townhomes, while Powder Springs Street will include 51 townhomes, city documents show. Final plats for both projects were presented and advanced last week for final approval from council on Wednesday.

The South Avenue property was rezoned in 2019 to make space for Inglenook Walk, the name of the development. The Marietta Daily Journal reported that the developer has already been constructing water, sewer and stormwater infrastructure and is installing a new private street to access the homes.

The 51-townhome development, called White Oaks, was also rezoned (but in 2020). A new private road called Bannon Way and infrastructure construction are already underway, The MDJ reported.
