Cobb School Board Expected To Choose New Board Chair, Vice Chair: Report

Nominations for the next school board chair and vice chair will be voted on Thursday, but it's unclear who will be considered.

COBB COUNTY, GA — The Cobb County School District Board of Education will have new leaders at the helm, the Marietta Daily Journal reported.

At the Thursday school board meeting, board members are expected to vote on a new chair and vice chair. Randy Scamihorn and David Banks have been serving as the chair and vice chair, respectively, for the last year.

Nominations will be advanced during the meeting, but Scamihorn told the MDJ he doesn't know which names will be put forward for consideration. Leroy "Tre" Hutchins, who represents Post 3, also said he wasn't sure who was planning to put their name forward.
