- Coming soon to East Cobb, a second Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) will be opening at 1290 Johnson Ferry Rd. The Veterinary Emergency Group will be taking the place of the former Tokyo Valentino adult store that was ordered to close in July of 2021 for operating without a proper business license. VEG will operate similarly to an Urgent Vet with after-hours availability as well as collaborating with a pet's primary veterinarian to handle emergencies. (East Cobb News)
- The Forsyth County Sheriff's Department (FCSD) has seen a rise in speeding lately — not the amount of those speeding but the actual speed of the vehicle. The behavior seems to have begun around the start of the pandemic, and the department has been trying to find ways to not just ticket these individuals, but change their behavior for safety in the community. Lt. Scotty Spriggs spoke about the balance of bringing these speeders to a stop safely and deterring the behavior by setting up more speed details and having more troopers on patrol when possible. (WSB Radio)
- Sighs of relief were heard statewide as gas prices dropped five cents this past week, bringing the average cost of regular unleaded gas to $3.34 per gallon. This new average is 52 cents more than last month and $2.00 more than at this point last year. Cobb County is roughly one cent more than the state average. (Cobb County Courier)
