- In nearby Roswell, the nonprofit coffee shop, RISE Coffee & Tea, is focused on creating a welcoming community and a safe workspace for adults with special needs. The shop opened in 2020 and is based on a similar job that the founder's daughter had while working in a school coffeehouse. Fifteen adults with special needs currently work at RISE Coffee & Tea serving up hot and iced drinks, smoothies, and gluten-free treats. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
- Nonprofit organization The Joy Mission is now a club at Lassiter High School thanks to the collaboration between junior Julia Randall and club founder Natalie Sorrels. The club focuses on providing student-to-student support for those dealing with the death of a loved one. This community teaches students how to talk about grief, puts together joy baskets, and makes its services available to elementary and middle school students. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
- Seven Chattahoochee Tech students earned gold, silver, and bronze medals at the SkillsUSA Georgia Competition.
