Powder Springs Man Indicted On Child Porn Charges
Thomas Cwik is facing on federal charges of producing, distributing, receiving, and possessing child porn.
ATLANTA — A Powder Springs man is facing federal charges of producing, distributing, receiving, and possessing child pornography. Thomas Cwik, 31, was recently arraigned in federal court after being indicted by a grand jury on July 9, 2019.
Federal agents said Cwik allegedly traded child pornography online with another individual in January 2019. An April 2019 search warrant found multiple digital devices containing hundreds of images and videos of child pornography. Prosecutors also said Cwik engaged in sex acts with a minor child in Cobb County and captured that incident on two videos taken.
The case is being brought as part of Project Safe Childhood. In February 2006, the Attorney General launched Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative designed to protect children from online exploitation and abuse. Led by U.S. Attorney’s offices around the country, Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state and local resources to apprehend and prosecute individuals who exploit children.
