Principal Addresses Cobb Parents About Racist Social Media Post: Report
North Cobb High School Principal Bucky Horton tells parents "we are moving on" after controversial post.

MARIETTA, GA -- A Cobb County principal reached out to parents recently following a racist social media post involving the school, Patch has learned.
North Cobb High School Principal Bucky Horton told parents in an email "All is well and we are moving forward with our school day," according to WGCL-TV.
The school is investigating the disturbing social media post, which contained racial slurs in favor of slavery, the n-word and other derogatory comments.

“The North Cobb High School administration and staff does not condone this type of profane and bigoted behavior in our school,” the letter said, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “The message was deplorable and we denounce everything about it. We take this matter very seriously and we are addressing it in accordance with Cobb County School District policies and procedures.
“We will use this as an opportunity to remind ourselves why we are here and that we, as a school community, stand for respect and inclusion. This must be a place where all are free to learn in a safe and welcoming environment.”

A female African-American student interviewed by WGCL said that she has heard the words before the school, and it's a problem. She said she hit the boy who said them.
