Recall: Trader Joe's Says Applesauce Might Contain Glass Fragments
Three varieties affected, including two sold in Marietta, Buckhead, Midtown and Sandy Springs.
MARIETTA, GA -- If you shop at any of Trader Joe's four locations in metro Atlanta, you may want to check your kitchen shelves to see if you have some apple sauce that the retailer just recalled.
The recall affects three varieties of Trader Joe's applesauce; the jars may contain glass fragments, the store said.
The “First Crush” and “Organic” varieties were sold by all Trader Joe’s stores, including those in Georgia. The “All Natural” brand was sold in only these 13 states: Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Louisiana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah and Washington.

Here are the barcodes for the impacted Apple Sauce varieties, as reported by Patch.
- Trader Joe’s First Crush Unsweetened Gravenstein Apple Sauce with barcode number 00015905 and all best-before dates through Aug. 8, 2018;
- Trader Joe’s Organic Unsweetened Apple Sauce with barcode number 00194877 and all best-before dates through Oct. 6, 2018; and
- Trader Joe’s All Natural Unsweetened Apple Sauce with barcode number 00014359 and all best-before dates through Dec. 16, 2018.
“All potentially affected products have been removed from store shelves and destroyed,” Trader Joe’s said in the recall notice.
