- Marietta's Kell High School has retired two basketball jerseys. The jerseys belonged to Scoot Henderson (#0) and his younger sister Crystal (#30). Scoot is expected to be the No. 2 pick during this year's NBA Draft. Crystal, an active Kell High School player, has exceeded 2,000 career points. Both players are under the age of 19. (11 Alive)
- The Cobb County Sheriff's Office arrested an alleged registered sex offender on Jan. 20 in Marietta. Dameon Alexander, a wanted registered sex offender, was discovered by deputies while hiding under a mattress at a family member's apartment. He has been charged with a probation violation. (Fox News)
- Cobb County parents have expressed concerns related to a recent series of false alarms with the district's new security system. The most recent false alarm was issued at Shallowford Falls Elementary School on Wednesday morning. The parents are asking the school district to review how it communicates with parents about the false alarms. (WSBTV)
