Here are the top three stories today in and around Marietta:

1. On Friday morning, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in Marietta. The incident occurred at the intersection of North Marietta Parkway and Fairground Street. The male victim was transported to Kennestone Hospital in an alert and conscious state, according to the Marietta Police Department. (11 Alive)
2. The City of Marietta will be hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Mill Street Plaza on Tuesday, Sept. 7 at 4:15 p.m. The original ribbon-cutting ceremony was originally scheduled for last month, but inclement weather postponed the event. Mill Street Plaza was renovated with new landscaping, new brick pavers, a new roof, and an original 1916 Glover Machine Works Engine. (Cobb County Courier)
3. Cobb County's Mable House Arts Center will be hosting the gold place winning Team USA portfolio from the 2022 World Photographic Cup. Team USA tied with Mexico for the award. The portfolio will be on display from Sept. 29 through Nov. 11. There will be an exhibition reception on Oct. 23 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Cobb County)
