Second Man Arrested in Carjacking on Cobb Parkway

Cobb Police have arrested and charged a second man in connection with a carjacking last month.

A female victim was returning to her car Jan. 18, 2013, from shopping at the Toys “R” Us on Cobb Parkway when she was approached by two men. 

The perpetrators robbed her of her purse and car keys and then fled from the area in an unknown direction in the victim’s white 2012 BMW X5

Detectives have arrested and charged 19-year-old Derek C. Turner of Atlanta with armed robbery, hijacking of a motor vehicle and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. He was taken into custody today and is being held at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center.

Detectives also arrested and charged 21-year-old Ladarius Quintez Gibbs of Atlanta with armed robbery and hijacking of a motor vehicle. He was taken into custody Jan. 31, 2013 and is also being held at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center.
