Serial Child Molester Sentenced To Three Life Terms
The man abused two children over a four-year period, but evidence showed Robert Paige may have abused as many as five.
MARIETTA, GA -- A man convicted of sexually abusing two children in Cobb has received three consecutive life sentences as punishment. On Friday, after a week-long trial, a Cobb jury convicted Curtis Lee Paige, 51, of Raeford, N.C., of abusing the children between 2004 and 2008. The state presented evidence Paige abused as many as five children, though he was only charged with abusing two children due to statute of limitations and other issues.
Paige encountered all of the children through his girlfriend, with whom he sometimes lived in an apartment on Windcliff Drive in Marietta. The girlfriend had children of her own and also babysat several other children. The first victim to come forward was having behavioral issues as a teenager and finally broke down and told her mother what had happened years earlier while she was in Paige’s care. That victim also told police as a young child, she was not only abused by Paige but witnessed him sexually abusing other children.
A second victim later came forward and reported that Paige had abused her while he was dating her mother. She, too, also reported witnessing Paige abuse other children, including the same children identified by the first victim.
