Slots Open For Cobb's Household Hazardous Waste Collection

Registration is required for the collection event where you can safely throw out batteries, pool chemicals, paint and other hazardous items.

COBB COUNTY, GA — Cobb County residents will have a chance to safely throw out old batteries, household cleaners, any flammables, lawn care products, fluorescent lights, paint, pool chemicals and more next weekend.

Keep Cobb Beautiful is hosting a free household hazardous waste collection event Saturday, Aug. 7 from 9 a.m. to noon at Jim Miller Park, 2245 Callaway Road SW in Marietta, according to a news release from Cobb County. Registration is required to participate, and can be done so online with this Google Form.

Recommended arrival time will be assigned during registration. No commercial waste or waste from businesses will be allowed.

Agricultural waste, ammunition, appliances, bio-hazardous or bio-medical waste, explosives, syringes and needles, controlled substances, medications, tires, electronics, trash and radioactive materials will not be accepted.

  • car and boat batteries
  • antifreeze
  • oil (used or unused)
  • fertilizers
  • roach/ant and weed killers
  • aerosols
  • abrasive, ammonia-based or bleach cleaners
  • drain openers/cleaners
  • pool chemicals
  • paint (no more than 10 gallons per vehicle)
  • paint thinners
  • moth balls
  • toilet cleaner
  • disinfectants
  • nail polish and remover
  • oven cleaner
  • smoke detectors
  • wood preservatives
  • flea powder, spray and shampoos
