It's the first day of spring, which means there's places to go and things to do in Cobb County. Here are several of our faves.

COBB COUNTY, GA -- It's the first day of spring and that means the winter doldrums are officially behind us. As an added bonus for Georgians, the temperatures are acting accordingly. Nice weather means that we can finally put our coats away and get out of the house for some fun and -- part of this week at least -- sun.

But what to do and where to go? There are some pretty great places and spaces in Cobb that we may have perhaps forgotten about, but not anymore. Here are some pretty awesome spots to enjoy now that the weather's on the up and up.

Six Flags Over Georgia: 275 Riverside Parkway, SW Austell, GA 30168.. Metro Atlanta's only bona fide amusement park gets more than 2 million visitors a year, which means you've probably been there. But there are new wrinkles every season so you never know what to expect. This year the park will debut the "Justice League: Battle For Metropolis" amusement. The park opens this week -- Friday, March 25.
