  1. Cobb County Public Schools says it is struggling to address students' mental health needs. The district did not add any new counselors with the use of COVID-19 relief funds. The district's school counselors have a backlog of students seeking care and support. According to a district spokesperson, the district's hiring budget for school counselors depends on the state funding formula. The district strongly supports more funding. (WHEC)
  2. Local home builder Traton Homes has partnered with Cobb Christmas to provide Cobb County children with gifts this holiday season. This is the 17th year that the home builder has partnered with the organization. Traton Homes will be collecting new unwrapped toys through Friday, Dec. 9 at its corporate office on Kennesaw Avenue in Marietta. (Patch)
  3. A Cobb County election result has been changed. According to the county's Board of Elections, one of the precinct's memory cards had not been uploaded. The memory card contained uncounted votes. Madelyn Orochena lost the Kennesaw City Council race by 31 votes after the memory card was uploaded. Lynnette Burnette has been declared the winner. (Fox 5 Atlanta)
