Suspects Arrested After Marietta Pawn Shop Armed Robbery
The suspects were arrested only minutes after they tried to rob a Cash America Pawn Shop in Cobb County.

MARIETTA, GA — Two men who allegedly tried to rob a Cobb County pawn shop Wednesday afternoon were arrested shortly afterward. According to police, a 911 call came in around 4 pm that the armed men were inside the Cash America Pawn shop at 316 Cobb Parkway South. Several Marietta officers responded while the 911 dispatcher continued to gather details.
About a minute later, the 911 dispatcher told police a witness had seen two armed black men enter the pawn shop. The first Marietta officer arrived at 4:07 and determined the suspects had fled in a vehicle. Two minutes later, the officer radioed detailed descriptions of the suspects and their escape vehicle.
A Cobb police officer located the suspect vehicle on I-285 at Paces Ferry Road. Atlanta and Cobb police then arrested the suspects.

Nicholas Swaby, 25, of Stone Mountain, faces attempted armed robbery, aggravated assault/intent to rob, and false imprisonment charges. Michael Mackey, 45, of Atlanta, faces the same charges, as well as possession of a firearm during commission of a crime, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. All of the charges are felonies.
