- The Thanks for Giving event is currently underway in Marietta. Participants can support the program by becoming a "Smart Stuffer Packing Partner" or by donating to the event. Participants will be using a suggested shopping list to compile pre-packed family food boxes and deliver them to First Baptist Church Marietta by Nov. 10. This year's goal is to feed 1,000 families. - A candidate for the Cobb County Board of Education has filed a complaint against her opponent. The complaint filed by Catherine Pozniak accuses Republic incumbent David Chastain of violating campaign finance laws. Chastain has already admitted to the filing mistake and reports an amendment has already been added to the filing. (Cobb County Courier)
- Several Dollar General stores in Cobb County have been cited for various safety violations. The U.S. Department of Labor reports the company has been ignoring federal workplace standards on several occasions. A South Cobb Parkway location has been cited for maintenance, safety, and improper handling of materials in the past. Each violation costs the company more than $90,000 in fines. (WSBTV)
